KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 — A Thai textile maker and retailer who ran an online marketplace selling stolen and stolen goods were arrested in the northern province of Koh Tao, police said Friday.
The men, identified as a 45-year-old man and a 49-year old man, are alleged to have stolen around 4,000 pairs of jeans, textiles and accessories from a Chinese supplier in Thailand, police in Koh Tao said.
The suspect was arrested Thursday and taken to a police station, where he was held under police guard, police added.
Police said the men had been selling stolen goods from the Silk Road marketplace since 2013.
The online marketplace was set up to market illegal goods on the dark web, a network of websites that are not accessible by traditional search engines.
